Boston Police prepare for potential Celtics championship celebration ahead of Game 4

Boston Police are gearing up for a potential championship celebration outside of the TD Garden, warning drivers and pedestrians that streets around the arena will be shut down at the halftime of Game 4.

Though the Celtics remain in Dallas, officials expect tens of thousands of fans to flock to Causeway Street, for the sold-out watch party inside the Garden or for festivities at other establishments.

In a traffic advisory Friday afternoon, Boston Police alerted drivers and pedestrians that Causeway Street from North Washington Street to Merrimac Street will be closed, while all feeder roads off Causeway to New Chardon Street will also shut down, at halftime.

“There will also be no re-entry to any establishments within that area,” the advisory states.

Celtics fans sold out the Garden’s first-ever watch party Wednesday. They didn’t skip a beat in rooting for their hometown team, as Boston took a commanding 3-0 series lead.

Tonight’s watch party is also sold out.
