Red Sox to honor Dustin Pedroia before June 25 game against Yankees

Dustin Pedroia will be back at Fenway Park later this month.

The Red Sox announced Friday that the former second baseman will be honored during a special pregame ceremony prior to their game against the Yankees on June 25, which is their first home game against their rivals this season.

After 14 seasons with the Red Sox, which ended unceremoniously with a few injury-plagued years, Pedroia announced his retirement on February 1. The ceremony on June 25 offers the opportunity to honor him in front of a full crowd at Fenway Park.
