GIRLS SWIMMING
Alyssa Fischer won the 500-freestyle and Elizabeth Mosher captured the 50-freestyle as Hopkinton defeated Ashland, 93-77, in the Tri-Valley League.
FIELD HOCKEY
In a South Coast Conference matchup, Megan Smith scored a pair of goals to lead Case (2-0) past Apponequet, 3-1. … Julia Elicier scored twice as Bourne (1-1) defeated Fairhaven, 3-2. … Cami Crook tallied eight goals and two assists as Somerset Berkley (1-0) blanked Wareham, 14-0.
VOLLEYBALL
Tia Fiorentino and Lauren Tian each posted 10 kills as Winchester (4-0) swept Belmont, 3-0, in the Middlesex League.
GIRLS SOCCER
Ellie Goodfield had a goal and two assists as Boston Latin (3-0-1) rolled to an 8-0 win over O’Bryant in a nonleague contest.
BOYS SOCCER
Gabriel Roman scored the game winner and keeper Sebastian Patino had seven saves as Latin Academy edged Boston Latin, 1-0, in a nonleague contest.
BOYS TRACK
The Lowell boys track team improved to 2-0 with a 69-31 victory over Central Catholic at Cawley Stadium. The Red Raiders won eight of the 12 events and were led by Joeben Jacobs who won both the mile run (4:50.0) and the 1000 (2:48.5) as well as anchoring the victorious 4×200 relay team.
Ethan Hoey had a personal best and state qualifying throw of 47-3 to win the shot put and senior captain Jacob Desmond (55m, 300m, relay) placed in three events to provide much needed depth for Lowell.
Sean Theurer won the 300 and the high jump as Burlington (2-0) defeated Stoneham, 94-6, in the Middlesex Freedom.
