Red Sox great David Ortiz reveals he had the coronavirus

Red Sox great David Ortiz revealed during the broadcast on Friday night that he and his brother tested positive for the coronavirus recently.

On the NESN broadcast, Ortiz said he had the virus but has gotten over it.

“I had it asymptomatic,” he said. “It wasn’t that bad. My brother had it really bad, was in the hospital for a week, ended up losing 25 pounds. This is no joke. You don’t realize how crazy this is until it hits home. I learned so much about this COVID-19 thing while I was going through the process.”
