Norwood police officer shoots at vehicle fleeing shooting scene: Police
A Norwood police officer shot at a speeding vehicle that was racing away from a shooting scene early Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to a 911 call from a Folan Avenue resident at 3:16 a.m. The resident was seeking the police’s help for a domestic situation.
As police units arrived on scene, they heard a series of gunshots. Then a car raced toward them from the caller’s address, police said.
“One officer in the street discharged their service firearm at the vehicle but the vehicle continued at a high rate of speed and fled the area,” Norwood Police wrote about the incident.
It appears that no one was struck by any of the gunfire.
Norwood police officers and detectives were at the scene Sunday morning, and were being assisted by State Police Ballistics and the Crime Scene Services Section.
