Robert Kraft named Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist in Coach/Contributor category
Patriots owner Robert Kraft is one of 12 Coach/Contributor finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2023.
Only one finalist will advance for enshrinement consideration after the 12-member Coach/Contributor committee convenes on Aug. 23. If Kraft advances, his Hall of Fame fate will be up to the full Selection Committee. Only one Coach/Contributor can be selected each year.
The other Coach/Contributor finalists are Roone Arledge, Don Coryell, Mike Holmgren, Frank “Bucko” Kilroy, Art Modell, Buddy Parker, Dan Reeves, Art Rooney Jr., Mike Shanahan, Clark Shaughnessy and John Wooten.
Kraft has been the Patriots’ owner, chairman and CEO since he bought the franchise in 1994. Under his leadership, the Patriots have advanced to 10 Super Bowls and won six, tied for the most in NFL history.
Kraft, 81, is also considered one of the league’s most influential owners, having played a key role in negotiating the last two Collective Bargaining Agreements and multi-billion-dollar contracts with its broadcast partners.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is the only active owner currently in the Hall of Fame.
