Billerica man arrested on child pornography had mutilated dolls, children’s clothing, feds say
A Billerica man who the feds described as a “lifetime level 1 sex offender” was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography following a search of his residence Wednesday.
Eric Robert Johnson, 49, of Floyd Street, had previously been convicted in 1992 in New Hampshire with two counts of rape of a child by force, according to an FBI affidavit filed with the court.
A search of Johnson’s residence conducted Wednesday when he was not home allegedly revealed “at least three dolls” with cutouts in the vaginal area with what “appeared to be bodily fluids … in at least two of the dolls,” diapers throughout the residence, two children’s backpacks under a bed containing children’s clothing like bathing suits and a nightgown and another bag of children’s clothing and costumes in the basement, according to the affidavit.
The primary finding was an external hard drive found in the same bedroom as the backpacks that feds say contained several videos depicting child pornography. At least one image allegedly featured a pornographic image of a girl as young as 6 to 10 years old.
One filename allegedly found on the device included an acronym that means “preteen hard core” and contained a roughly 40 minute video depicting the rape of a girl who the FBI agent who wrote the affidavit described as likely between 10 to 15 years old. Another nearly 20 minute video depicted a girl roughly 10 to 12 years old. There was also allegedly at least 50 photographs of another young girl.
The search warrant was executed following FBI surveillance of the home beginning October based on evidence found on an undisclosed internet peer-to-peer file sharing network, the affidavit stated. His home is blurred on Google Street View, which a Google help page says is a feature that is done by user request “to respect others’ privacy.”
A photo of Johnson was not readily available because the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board only provides public access to offenders of levels 2 and 3. A request for a booking photo from the Billerica Police Department was not immediately returned.
Johnson will appear on the charge in federal court in Boston at an unscheduled future date.
