Ravens safety Ar’Darius Washington breaks foot, out for season; OLB Daelin Hayes could return this season
Ravens safety Ar’Darius Washington broke his foot in practice Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season, coach John Harbaugh said.
Washington, an undrafted rookie out of TCU, played in three games, including the team’s 16-13 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Though he lined up for just seven defensive snaps, he was an option at both safety and slot corner, and his injury further diminished the Ravens’ secondary depth. Marlon Humphrey was the only member of the team’s usual cornerback rotation not to miss practice time because of an injury over the past week.
In more positive injury news, Harbaugh said rookie outside linebacker Daelin Hayes will return to practice soon and could play again this season. Hayes suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions and subsequently needed a cleanup procedure in his knee, Harbaugh said.
Extra points
The Ravens announced that MTA light-rail service will not be available from 9:30 p.m. until the end of Sunday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Riders who leave the game early will be directed to take supplemental express and local shuttle buses departing from Lot C outside M&T Bank Stadium. Light-rail service will reopen when the game ends and will be available for an hour after the conclusion.
