Ravens activate ILB Malik Harrison ahead of game vs. Browns; practice squad CB signed, DT elevated

The Ravens on Saturday activated Malik Harrison from the nonfootball injury list, clearing the way for the second-year inside linebacker to play in Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Harrison hasn’t played since he was struck in the calf by a stray bullet on Halloween. He was designated to return to practice Tuesday after missing three games, the minimum required for a player placed on the NFI list. The former third-round pick could help the Ravens’ depth at inside linebacker, where he started earlier this season, or play situationally on the edge. Cleveland leads the NFL with 156.8 rushing yards per game and is getting back running back Kareem Hunt on Sunday night.

“He looked good in practice,” coach John Harbaugh said Friday of Harrison. “He looked fine, so that was good to see. … He did a nice job, in the three weeks he was away with his injury situation, of training. He’s in good shape. Yes, he can play outside and inside. He’s definitely an option on the edge at [strong-side outside linebacker] or defensive end in a nickel package. He can do those things, and he has been practicing at those things.”

The Ravens also signed practice squad cornerback Kevon Seymour to the 53-man roster. Cornerbacks Anthony Averett (thigh), Chris Westry (thigh), Tavon Young (foot/knee) and Jimmy Smith (neck) are all questionable for Sunday, and Seymour, who has been elevated three times this season, should help the team’s depth.

With defensive linemen Brandon Williams (shoulder) and Calais Campbell (knee) also questionable, the Ravens promoted defensive tackle Isaiah Mack. Mack joined the Ravens’ practice squad Nov. 17 and could make his team debut Sunday against a talented Browns offensive line.

The Ravens also placed undrafted rookie safety Ar’Darius Washington on season-ending injured reserve. Washington, primarily a special teams contributor, broke his foot Wednesday.
