Mac Jones says the Patriots finally have the ‘formula’ down for winning games

After winning four straight games after a 2-4 start, the Patriots confidence is at an all time high.

So is the buy-in factor to Bill Belichick’s weekly game plans to knock out each opponent.

Rookie quarterback Mac Jones, during his weekly session on WEEI’s “Merloni & Fauria” show, says the Patriots know the answers to the test from game to game, thanks to the coaches.

“I think we’re confident. We know what the formula is for winning the game,” he said. “We just have to continue to do that. We can’t be satisfied with where we’re at. We’re not where we want to be.”

At 6-4, the Patriots remain a half-game behind the AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills. They currently hold one of the three wild card entries into the playoffs. But with seven games to play, they have to keep trucking.

The rookie quarterback acknowledged that he was getting more comfortable with his place in the offense.

“Everyone just finds their role, and for me, that’s just being more vocal. I think we’re all on the same page, which is good,” he said. “That’s a weekly thing we have to strive for, getting on the same page with the game plan, and putting on a good show on Sunday and putting enough points on the board.”

Jones had one of his best days as a pro, completing 19 of 23 passes for 198 yards. He threw three touchdowns in the 45-7 win over the Browns.

“We’ve played a lot of games. The only thing you can control is just trying to get better every week. That’s what I try to do, and that’s what everyone on our team tries to do,” he said. “I just think as time goes along, you get more experience, and you get more comfortable with it. That’s pretty much all there is to it.”
