Patriots RB James White out indefinitely with hip injury, per report
Don’t expect to see James White in uniform anytime soon.
According to the NFL Network, White suffered a subluxation of his right hip during the Patriots’ 28-13 loss to the Saints on Sunday and is out indefinitely. White was carted off early in the second quarter after getting tackled along New Orleans sideline upon rushing for a first down. His absence forced the Pats to scramble, with core special teamer Brandon Bolden eventually seeing more offensive snaps than he had in any game since 2015.
White underwent further testing on Monday and is a candidate for injured reserve. If placed on IR, the Patriots could activate wide receiver N’Keal Harry who is eligible to return to the active roster this week. In the backfield, the Pats are left with Bolden, Damien Harris, J.J. Taylor and fourth-round rookie Rhamondre Stevenson, who has been a healthy scratch for two straight games.
