Charles River water search: Divers recover dead body from river, Cambridge officials report
A dead body was found in the Charles River on Wednesday following a search for a person in the water, according to Cambridge fire officials.
Divers from the Cambridge Fire Department, Boston Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police searched for a person in the water near the Boston University Bridge on Wednesday.
“Final update on the Charles River water search: Unfortunately a deceased victim was recovered from the water,” the Cambridge Fire Department tweeted at 2:17 p.m. about three hours after the search began.
In the morning, the Boston Fire Department tweeted, “BFD divers and Marine units together with @CambridgeMAFire @MassStatePolice in the Charles River near the BU bridge searching for a report of a person in the water.”
