Ticker: Seaport welcomes new hotel; Cambridge Savings Bank wins WELL Building award

The Seaport has a new hotel just in time for the easing up of pandemic mandates.

The 14-story, 416-room Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston Seaport is home to over 6,000 square feet of meeting space, including two outdoor decks.

It’s located at the gateway to the Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park, where the big cruise ships are sure to pull in sometime soon.

“With waterfront views, modern amenities, and two trusted Hilton brands under one roof, this is truly a premier addition to the Hilton brands like you have never seen before,” said hotel general manager Charlie York, who added it’s perfect for summer events, too.

Bank wins WELL Building award

Cambridge Savings Bank, with more than $5 billion in assets, is the first building in New England to earn Platinum-level certification by the International WELL Building Institute for its operations center in Waltham.

The WELL Building Standard (WELL) is a global benchmark for advancing and certifying health and well-being in buildings. The operations center also achieved LEED Platinum certification for Core and Shell by the U.S. Green Building Council in July 2020. CSB is the first financial institution to earn both designations.

The newly renovated, three-story, 76,000-square-foot office building houses 350 CSB employees, including its executive team and operations staff.
