Trump fires back at Supreme Court ruling on his taxes

Former President Donald Trump came out swinging after the U.S. Supreme Court announced it won’t block his tax records from being turned over to a New York state prosecutor.

“It just never ends!” Trump wrote Monday. “The Supreme Court never should have let this ‘fishing expedition’ happen.”

The former president has fought to keep his tax records from going public, but the court that includes three Trump appointees dropped the hammer Monday without any explanation.

The court’s order is a win for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., who has been seeking Trump’s tax records since 2019 as part of an investigation. Vance, a Democrat, had subpoenaed the records from the Mazars accounting firm that has long done work for Trump and his businesses. Mazars has said it would comply with the subpoena, but Trump sued to block the records’ release.

Trump teed up his response just hours after the news of the court decision sparked news alerts across the country.

“This investigation is a continuation of the greatest political Witch Hunt in the history of our Country, whether it was the never ending $32 million Mueller hoax, which already investigated everything that could possibly be investigated, ‘Russia Russia Russia,’ where there was a finding of ‘No Collusion,’ or two ridiculous ‘Crazy Nancy’ inspired impeachment attempts where I was found NOT GUILTY. It just never ends!,” Trump wrote in an email sent to journalists via his 45 Office email account.

He went on slam the state he accused of being run by Democrats, starting with an embattled Gov. Andrew Cuomo who is linked to a federal investigation for alleged undercounting of nursing-home deaths. He also faces calls for his impeachment.

Trump added he’s not backing down.

“I will fight on, just as I have, for the last five years (even before I was successfully elected), despite all of the election crimes that were committed against me. We will win!”
