Massachusetts winter weather advisory: 1 to 3 inches of snow on the way
Snow arriving in Massachusetts on Tuesday could make the evening commute and Wednesday morning commute a bit slippery.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of western Massachusetts and Connecticut from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
Meteorologists are predicting 2 to 3 inches of snow for areas west of 495 in Massachusetts — with some pockets of 3 to 4 inches, and up to 6 inches in the northwest corner of the Bay State.
Areas of eastern Massachusetts and around Boston are expected to get 1 to 2 inches.
“A light-accumulating snow is anticipated late on Tues into early Wed,” National Weather Service Boston tweeted. “Greatest accumulation into the Berkshires, northern CT into western/central MA. May make for difficult travel for the late Tues PM commute the AM commute Wed.”
