Boston shooting: Woman suffers life-threatening injuries, police investigating
A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in Dorchester Saturday night, according to Boston Police, who are investigating the shooting.
Police officers responded around 7:46 p.m. to a call for a person shot in the area of 339 Norfolk St. in Dorchester.
Officers found a woman at the scene suffering from life-threatening injuries, and she was transported to a local hospital, a Boston Police spokesperson said Sunday.
Also over the weekend, the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested an East Boston suspect who was wanted for assault with intent to murder, stemming from a shooting that happened early Friday.
Police officers in Dorchester responded around 2:16 a.m. Friday to a call for a person shot in the area of 54 Parkman St.
Upon arrival, officers found ballistic evidence in the area of Adams Street and Victory Road. Other responding officers learned that a man suffering from gunshot wounds was inside of a vehicle traveling on Neponset Avenue toward Gallivan Boulevard.
Officers found the man and he was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Then on Saturday at around 1 p.m., members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested Irwin Garcia, 31, of East Boston.
Garcia was arrested after a warrant was issued out of Dorchester District Court for assault with intent to murder.
