LIVE: Six Democrats to face off in Las Vegas debate

Michael Bloomberg will likely be the prime target as he faces off against five of his Democratic presidential rivals for the first time in tonight’s debate in Las Vegas.

Bloomberg is facing increasing criticism from his competitors as he continues his rise in the polls, an ascendancy propelled by the hundreds of millions of dollars the former New York City mayor has poured into advertising nationwide.

Bloomberg’s rivals have accused him of trying to buy the election, and jabbed at him over his stop and frisk policy as mayor and his past comments on redlining.

He will likely face scrutiny on the same topics, and more, tonight, when he’ll be joined onstage by former Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

The debate runs from 9 to 11 p.m. and will air live on NBC and MSNBC.

Biden and Warren will both be looking for strong performances tonight to reverse course after dismal showings in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Buttigieg and Klobuchar, too, will be looking to stand out as the nominating contest shifts to more racially diverse states.

And there’s the possibility that Sanders, who won the New Hampshire primary and finished second in the still-contested Iowa caucus, will finally get the front-runner treatment in the debate.
