Man shot, killed Saturday near TD Garden, 2 charged

Two men are being charged with murder in connection with a deadly early-morning shooting Saturday near TD Garden that left one man dead.

Police responded to 101 Canal Street just after 2 a.m. where they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not identified the victim, pending family notification.

Police saw a vehicle flee from the scene and stopped the car at the intersection of Canal and Causeway streets. Officers found a gun during the traffic stop, leading to the arrests of  Bryan Rice, 22, and Anthony Baptista-Goncalves, 24, both of Boston.

Rice will be arraigned on charges of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and attempted armed robbery. Goncalves will be arraigned on charges of being an accessory before and after the fact to commit murder and armed robbery.
