Believe it or not, the real-life Downton Abbey, i.e. Highclere Castle, isn’t as far-flung as you may think. Just a quick six-hour direct flight to London from Boston, offered by a number of carriers including the budget airline Norwegian and the full-service British Airways, stand between you and your Downton fantasy. Highclere Castle offers tours showing visitors the filming locations for the movie and television series. And for the foodie, they also just released their very own gin, named Highclere Castle Gin, so you can have a little taste of the castle to bring home with you! And it is quite literally a taste of the castle as the gin is made with botanicals grown right on the property.
