Giant pumpkin contest highlights opening day of the Topsfield Fair
Now entering its third century the Topsfield Fair opened its gates Friday for a 10-day run with the first day highlighted by a giant pumpkin weigh-off.
Founded in 1818, the annual fair bills itself as America’s Oldest County Fair and it features everything from carnival rides to the best livestock.
The Fair runs through Columbus Day.
