Catholic Central League MVP Aidan Emmerich of St. Mary’s shot a 1-over-par-70 to capture the league title at Hillview Country Club. Jake Murphy of Bishop Fenwick finished second with a 72, while Tim Picard of Lowell Catholic, Doug Russo of Austin Prep and Jake LaMonica of Archbishop Williams fired a 73.

John McNeil scored twice as Medfield (7-3-4) defeated Westwood, 5-1, in the Tri-Valley League. … Matt Kaplan dished out five assists as Medway rolled to a 6-0 win over Bellingham.
John Summers scored with six minutes left to give Wakefield a 1-1 draw with Melrose in the Middlesex League.
Alex Toye found the net twice, as Braintree (6-6-2) silenced Brookline, 3-0, in a Bay State Conference crossover.
Nicholas McMahon carried the offense with two goals and an assist, helping to lead Case (11-1-2) by Seekonk, 3-1, in the South Coast Conference.

Lauren Anastos netted the game-winning goal with 21 minutes remaining, as Hull (9-3-1) clinched a berth in the Div. 4 South tournament by rallying past Cohasset, 2-1, in the South Shore League.
Behind a two-goal, one-assist performance from Bridget O’Connell, Peabody (9-5) qualified for the Division 1 North tournament with 3-0 shutout of Tewksbury in a nonleague game.

Cate Delaney scored three goals as Gloucester (7-3-2) shut out Saugus, 5-0, in the Northeastern Conference.
Molly Willis notched a pair of goals, pacing North Andover (6-4-4) to an 8-0 shutout of Lawrence, in a Merrimack Valley Conference crossover. … Senior Maddie DiPietro registered two goals and an assist, as Central Catholic (7-3-4) blanked Dracut, 7-0.
Brooke Nelson’s third goal of the game in overtime gave Rivers a 3-2 win over Milton Academy in the Independent School League.
Callie Beauparlant led the way for Newburyport with a three-goal performance in a 4-0 shutout of Hamilton-Wenham in the Cape Ann League. … Mak Graves notched a pair of goals for Masconomet (13-0-2) as part of a 3-0 win over North Reading.
Mary Stewart finished with two goals to go with an assist, as Lincoln-Sudbury (7-5-1) rolled past Newton South, 7-1, in the Dual County League.
A hat trick from Lucas Crook, a pair of goals from Alex Millar and four assists from Cami Crook boosted Somerset-Berkley (15-0) to a South Coast Conference Blue 6-0 win over Apponequet.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Mia Berardino posted 13 kills, and Molly Kimball piled up 19 assists to propel Triton (5-11) by Pentucket, 3-0, in the Cape Ann League. … Liz Kelley did a little bit of everything for North Reading (8-7), recording 15 service points, 21 digs, three aces and six kills as part of a 3-2 win over Newburyport.
Samantha Hayes paced Braintree with 13 digs and four aces in a 3-0 nonleague sweep of Boston Latin.
Angie Grabmeier’s performance (13 assists, six kills, five aces) was the difference as Hopkinton (15-0) remained perfect with a 3-0 sweep of Millis in the Tri-Valley League.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Methuen announced that Hilary Glynn has been hired as the new girls varsity basketball coach. Glynn is a 1999 graduate of Methuen High School and captained the state championship team in her senior season. She went on to play four years at Framingham State and was an All-Conference player in all four of those years.
Weymouth named James Dolan as its new girls basketball coach. Dolan formerly served as the school’s boys basketball coach from 2002-2015.
BASEBALL
Chelmsford has named Lou Distasi as its new baseball coach. He replaces Mike O’Keefe, who stepped down following a successful 25-year run at the school. A former standout at Chelmsford, Distasi went on to play at Colby College. He spent the past two years as the freshman coach at the school.
