Patriots get good and bad news at practice Wednesday before Bills game

FOXBORO — Patriots wide receiver Javon Baker returned to practice Wednesday after missing all of last week with a concussion.

Baker, who told reporters before practice that he was involved in a car accident, also said he’s cleared the league’s concussion protocol. The fourth-round rookie is expected to see more playing time in the Patriots’ final three games. Despite his immense athletic gifts, Baker has seen just 32 offensive snaps in six games and has yet to catch a pass this season.

Meanwhile, safety Kyle Dugger, defensive back Marcus Jones and running back JaMychal Hasty were all absent Wednesday. Dugger has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury most of the year, but played last Sunday at Arizona, as did Jones and Hasty, Jones dealt with an illness last week, though it’s unclear why he and Hasty missed practice.

The Patriots will release their first injury report of the week Wednesday evening.
