Illegal immigrant wanted in murder case arrested in Everett

An illegal immigrant from Brazil wanted in connection with an “aggravated” murder has been arrested while hiding out in Everett, the Herald has learned.

Ricardo Luiz Andrade-Silva, 40, a citizen of Brazil, was arrested by ICE in Everett, for aggravated homicide on a warrant out of Minas Gerais, Brazil, a law enforcement source said today.

No further details about his alleged crime were available.

Area immigration officials did say Brazil put out a warrant for his arrest and he now faces deportation back to his home country.

“This fugitive has been accused of a heinous crime in his native country of Brazil and attempted to evade justice by hiding in Everett,” said ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd Lyons.

Lyons added, “foreign fugitives will not find refuge from their alleged crimes here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

Andrade-Silva crossed into the U.S. in August of 2021 in Otay Mesa, California.

“Authorities issued him a Notice to Appear, charged him with inadmissibility, and released him on an order of recognizance pending removal proceedings,” immigration officials said.

He was lost into the wind until his arrest Tuesday in Everett.
