Mac Jones is pumped up about his first Monday Night Football game in Buffalo
It’s hard to tell if playing a Monday Night Football game was something on Mac Jones’ bucket list as a pro.
But after checking off other notable items such as a Sunday nighter against the reigning Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers, an overtime duel against Dak Prescott and America’s team, a Thursday night contest in Atlanta, and a frosty bout with the Titans at Gillette, next up is the rookie quarterback’s first encounter with the Bills in Buffalo.
Jones told WEEI’s “Merloni & Fauria” during his weekly appearance he was looking forward to the first Monday Night Football clash of his career.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Jones. “Everyone has said that there’s a lot of energy. Obviously, where we’re playing it’s a great football city that cares a lot about football.
“They have a really good team. I think we have to go in there, have fun and enjoy the moment and I know both teams are going to play really hard. It will be a really good atmosphere and all that. I am excited for it. It will be fun.”
The 8-4 Patriots and 7-4 Bills are about to collide with AFC East supremacy on the line.
Asked what he knows about the Bills Mafia, the nickname for the team’s fan base, the Patriots quarterback seemed to have a pretty good idea what to expect.
“I know they are a great fan base,” said Jones. “They have a lot of passion and they bring a lot of energy to the games. Even before the games, I have seen a lot of crazy videos and stuff.”
He’ll be seeing a lot more come Monday night.
