Powerball jackpot jumps to an estimated $620M

The Lottery is advising all Powerball players to follow “health guidelines.”

That’s good advice because you’ll need to watch your pulse if you win Saturday night’s $620 million jackpot.

The cash option is an estimated $446 million. That’s a lot of cash on hand.

Nobody has won this thing in the last 4o rounds of the game. Saturday’s jackpot is the game’s largest since Jan. 20, when a $731.1 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in Maryland.

If hit, the Lottery adds, the $620 million jackpot would be the sixth-largest in the history of the game.

“When playing Powerball and other lottery games, we encourage people to keep the experience
enjoyable by playing responsibly and within their means,” said Michael Sweeney, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery. “We also remind people to follow health and safety guidelines when visiting retail locations.”
