Foxboro High School teacher arrested on child porn charges
A 41-year-old Foxboro High School teacher is being charged with possession of child pornography and receiving child porn over the internet.
Federal prosecutors said Thursday Thomas Davis, 41, of Mansfield, is being held behind bars pending a probable cause and detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
Investigators report seizing a laptop belonging to Davis with “approximately 40 images of child pornography on the defendant’s laptop, including images involving prepubescent minors under the age of 12-years-old.”
He faces five to 20 years in prison if found guilty. FBI agents arrested him “without incident” Thursday morning at his home.
Davis identified himself as a special education teacher in a high school video where he spoke of helping students.
The feds said anyone who has questions, concerns or information regarding this case should call 617-748-3274.
The case is brought as part of Project Safe Childhood. In 2006, the Department of Justice created Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
Last week, a retired state police detective captain from Amherst was also charged with possession of child porn.
